Walking with WolvesVertical Divider
A couple of years ago I began studying the Native American culture and became very interested in Shamanism. Just as we call on Jesus, Mother Mary, saints and angels to assist and protect us the Native American people call on their animal totems or guides. About 3 years ago I had a dream that I was in Sedona, Arizona. I found myself walking alone in the brush amongst the red rocks. As I was walking I asked myself, why I was there? I couldn’t understand the purpose of me being there. Suddenly an overwhelming anxious feeling rushed through my body. I became desperate to find anyone to help me. I spotted a building and ran towards it. I came around to the front of the building to see if I saw anyone inside. The front door was a glass door. As I got closer to it I saw my reflection. I was a jaguar! I got so scared that I woke myself out of the dream. How could that be possible? I was an animal!! The next day I called my shaman friend Irma to tell her about my dream. What Irma explained astounded me. Irma went on to tell me that I shapeshifted! I didn’t understand what that meant. Irma told me that Jaguar was my Animal Spirit Guide and that He was looking to work with me. I was so honored to have Jaguar by my side. Jaguar medicine is integrity and impeccability. Jaguar was teaching me the penalties of inappropriate behavior and offered me the rewards of good medicine as long as I stood in my personal integrity and walked through life in an impeccable manner. I realized that I had to be in integrity and impeccable with my words or I would have to be devoured by Jaguar’s wrath! If I followed Jaguar’s advice I would have an ally for life! I felt so blessed to have such a strong ally by my side. I now feel so empowered and I don’t worry who likes it or not because Jaguar is by my side. Recently, I met another ally, Wolf! As I am writing this I have chills going up and down my spine. Wolf is a teacher, a pathfinder, a forerunner of new ideas who returns to the clan to share ancient medicine. Wolf like Dog is very loyal. If you were to walk with wolves you would find an enormous sense of family within the pack, as well as a strong individualistic urge. So Wolf has the ability to be a part of society and yet still embody its own individual dreams and ideas. The senses of Wolf are very keen and the Moon is its power ally. The Moon is a symbol for psychic energy, or the unconscious that holds the secrets of knowledge and wisdom. Wolf medicine empowers the teacher within to come forth and aids the children of the earth on their life’s journey. Within the last couple of months I have come face to face with many people that resembled an aspect of my “old” self. At first, I didn’t realize what was happening. Then Wolf came to me and said, “These are the many roles you have played that no longer serve you. You have come a long way. Now you can teach them about a new reality so they can dispel “dis-ease” on all levels.” I walk with wolves now. This means that I can share ancient knowledge and wisdom to bring great truths so that the consciousness of humanity can attain new heights. I believe that by talking my truth and being in integrity with myself I have earned Wolf medicine. I am so happy that I listened to Jaguar! Wolf is the tribe’s greatest teacher. What an unbelievable honor and blessing it is to walk with wolves and teach all those that are ready the Great Mystery of life. Wolf Woman, Damaris
